VSTEP B1, B2, C1 Speaking Part 2: Solution Discussion

- Question:

You are planning an outdoor event and the weather forecast is uncertain. Which backup plan would you prefer: move to an indoor venue, reschedule, or cancel?

- Answer:

I would prefer to move the event to an indoor venue as a backup plan. In such uncertain weather conditions, it's important to ensure that the event can still take place without being affected by the elements.

Rescheduling may be inconvenient for attendees who have arranged their schedules to attend the event on a specific date. Furthermore, rescheduling may also mean additional planning and preparation.

Cancelling the event altogether may disappoint attendees and result in loss of resources invested in organizing the event.

Moving to an indoor venue, on the other hand, would provide a sheltered environment regardless of the weather conditions. This would ensure the continuity of the event without greatly inconveniencing attendees or wasting resources.

This option requires advance planning to secure a suitable indoor venue and communicate the change to all participants. Yet, it seems to be the most practical solution that balances feasibility with attendee satisfaction. Thus, given these considerations, I believe moving to an indoor venue would be the best backup plan in this case.
