VSTEP B1, B2, C1 Speaking Part 2: Solution Discussion

- Question:

You have a chance to meet a musician for an interview. Who would it be: a renowned classical composer, a famous pop singer, or an upcoming indie artist?

- Answer:

I'd choose an upcoming indie artist. My reasoning is that established musicians have often been interviewed extensively already, with their stories readily available. Interviewing a classical composer or a famous pop singer would undoubtedly be exciting, yet I feel their perspectives are widely shared already.

Conversely, an indie artist is at the early stage of their career and may offer fresh insights into the music industry. They are closer to the challenges and triumphs of beginning artists, and they could provide real, relatable advice to other musicians starting their journey. Moreover, it would be a chance to support and promote talent that may be overlooked in the mainstream media.

That said, it's important to consider personal interests in music genres. If someone strongly prefers classical or pop music, they might choose differently. However, for me, the prospect of uncovering a fresh perspective is the most appealing.
