VSTEP B1, B2, C1 Speaking Part 2: Solution Discussion

- Question:

Your office wants to create a relaxation space for employees. Would it include comfortable seating, a library, or a meditation space?

- Answer:

I would suggest the creation of a meditation space in the office. While comfortable seating and a library are appealing ideas, a meditation space could have a more profound impact on employee wellbeing.

A meditation space is a quiet area where employees can practice mindfulness and de-stress, which has been shown to increase focus, productivity, and mental wellbeing. It can be a sanctuary during stressful days and provide employees with a clear mind to tackle tasks effectively.

In contrast, while comfortable seating is inviting, it may not necessarily contribute to mental relaxation or productivity. It might even encourage lethargy. A library, on the other hand, although promoting continuous learning, may not suit everyone, especially those who are not inclined towards reading.

Therefore, considering the potential benefits to mental health and productivity, a meditation space would be the most beneficial relaxation space for employees in an office environment.
