VSTEP B1, B2, C1 Speaking Part 2: Solution Discussion

- Question:

Your community wants to encourage more social interaction among residents. Would you suggest organizing regular events, creating communal spaces, or starting community projects?

- Answer:

I would propose starting community projects to encourage more social interaction among residents. While regular events can foster interaction, they are often time-limited and don't necessarily ensure sustained engagement. Communal spaces are great for casual interaction, but without a specific purpose, they might not be used to their full potential.

Community projects, however, can create meaningful and ongoing engagement. They can range from community gardens to neighborhood clean-ups, and not only encourage cooperation but also create a sense of shared responsibility and achievement. They allow residents to work together towards a common goal, fostering a stronger sense of community. Such projects can also be diverse, catering to various interests and age groups, making them inclusive.

These projects give residents a chance to contribute, connect, and communicate on a regular basis, which can strengthen relationships among them. Therefore, for sustained and purposeful social interaction, I believe starting community projects would be most effective.
