VSTEP B1, B2, C1 Speaking Part 2: Solution Discussion

- Question:

You have to choose an effective method to reduce stress. Would it be meditation, physical activity, or socializing with friends?

- Answer:

I would opt for meditation as an effective method to reduce stress. While physical activity and socializing with friends have their own stress-relieving benefits, they may not always be possible or appropriate depending on circumstances or personal preferences.

Meditation, however, is a flexible and universally accessible practice that directly targets stress. It helps in grounding the mind, enhancing self-awareness, and promoting relaxation. Importantly, it equips individuals with the skills to handle stress more effectively in the long run.

Physical activity can indeed provide a physiological stress relief, but it might not address the mental component of stress. On the other hand, socializing, while beneficial, could also be a source of stress for some individuals, especially those who are introverted or going through tough times.

Considering these factors, meditation stands out as a consistently viable, adaptable, and effective method to manage and reduce stress, making it my preferred choice.
