VSTEP B1, B2, C1 Speaking Part 2: Solution Discussion

- Question:

If you were given the opportunity to change one thing in your hometown, would you choose to improve public transportation, build more parks, or create more job opportunities?

- Answer:

Given the opportunity, I would choose to create more job opportunities in my hometown. While improving public transportation and building more parks would indeed enhance the quality of life, I believe these improvements would be more impactful once people have stable income sources. Compared to these options, job creation addresses a more fundamental issue. When more people have access to jobs, not only are they able to support themselves and their families, but they also contribute to the local economy, which can lead to a positive cycle of growth and development. This, in turn, could potentially result in improvements in other areas such as public transportation and parks, as more funds become available for such initiatives. In contrast, improving transportation and building parks, although beneficial, don't necessarily address the root cause of many societal issues such as poverty and social inequality. Therefore, by focusing on job creation, we can establish a solid foundation for future improvements in various aspects of the community.
