VSTEP B1, B2, C1 Speaking Part 2: Solution Discussion

- Question:

A friend wants to start a new sport. Would you recommend tennis, dancing, or rock climbing?

- Answer:

I would recommend dancing. While all three sports have their merits, dancing offers a unique blend of physical exercise, creativity, and sociability that sets it apart. Compared to tennis, dancing is not reliant on weather conditions, nor does it require specialized equipment, making it more accessible for beginners. Furthermore, dancing is more inclusive, in that it can be tailored to suit any fitness level, unlike tennis which can be quite competitive. As for rock climbing, while it's excellent for building strength and endurance, it also carries a greater risk of injury, especially for novices. Dancing, on the other hand, tends to be safer and can also be done indoors, making it a more flexible choice. Lastly, dance styles are diverse, from ballet to hip-hop, there is something for everyone's taste. Thus, by choosing dancing, my friend will have the chance to find the genre they love, develop fitness, and perhaps even discover a new creative outlet. It's the combination of these factors that make dancing my recommended choice for my friend's new sport.
