Also or too? Which sentence is correct? Why?

I have a question.

1. I play football, and my friends play, too.
2. I play football, and my friends play also.

Choose correct the sentence and explain why it is correct. Please help!

The correct sentence is #1.
Too is similar to also in meaning, but not in usage.
Too is often placed at the end of a sentence, while also usually comes in the middle of a sentence, either before the verb, after an auxiliary verb or a model verb, or after the verb to be.
Also is never put at the end of a sentence.
