Saw somebody do, saw somebody doing?

Saw somebody do, saw somebody doing? How to use please?

- When you see an action from beginning to end, you use "Saw somebody do" Ex: Tom stole a bike -> you saw the complete action -> you say "I saw Tom steal a bike" - When you see an action in the middle of doing it, you use "Saw somebody doing" Ex: Tom was stealing a bike -> you saw this (he was breaking the lock), then you went out. Not a complete action -> you say " I saw Tom stealing a bike"
