sorry for vs sorry about?

Please help me which sentence is correct? 1. They want everyone to feel sorry for her. 2. They are sorry about all the mistakes.

the first sentences is correct.

If you feel pity for someone, you use "sorry for". If you apologize, you use "Sorry about". Both sentences are correct.
