Teacher refused to give me ______ any/some more time.

Teacher refused to give me ______ any/some more time. My friend said it should be "some" because it is a positive sentence. I am confusing. Help please!!

Actually it's "any" because "refuse" has a negative meaning. "The teacher refused to give me any more time" = "The teacher wouldn't give me any more time" = "The teacher didn't want to give me any more time."
