make do vs make to do?

Our teacher makes us do home work at school. We are made to do home work at school by our teacher. Which sentence is correct? and why?

Both are correct. "Make" is followed by an infinitive without "to" (the simple form of the verb) but by an infinitve with "to" in the passive (verb "to be" + "made" + "to" infinitive).
