Many a time _________ plan to divorce her husband , but she never did

Hey again lemme hug you first...1...2...3...ok here we go \o/

my questions:

1) many a time is as the same as many times? could you gimme some more examples? :)

2)  a) she did b) did she => i (always wrong :( )  chose SHE DID...but answer is DID SHE...phew , but why?? it is not a question :/

"Many a time" is an idiomatic expression used in formal or literary style meaning "many times." When at the beginning of a sentence, there's inversion. "Many a time did she plan to divorce her husband." ( = She planned to divorce her husband many times.)
