Interested in doing and interested to do?

I only know structure interested in doing sth. I have never seen interested to do sth. Today my teacher gave us a question. But I don't know how to use. Please help!

- Interested in doing = thinking of doing it, would like to do it
ex: I am interested in listening to music (I would like to listen to music)
- Interested to ... to say how somebody reacts to what they hear/see/read/learn/know/find
ex: I was interested to know it = I knew it and it was interesting for me
