VSTEP B1, B2, C1 Speaking Part 2: Solution Discussion

- Question:

A friend wants to take a solo vacation. Would you recommend they visit a bustling city, a peaceful countryside, or a resort town?

- Answer:

I'd recommend a bustling city. Solo travel in a city offers a plethora of activities that can cater to a wide range of interests, from exploring historic landmarks, indulging in local cuisine, to immersing in arts and culture. In contrast, a peaceful countryside, while offering tranquility, might lack diverse attractions and may not be easily navigable for a solo traveler.

A resort town could be a pleasant middle ground, but it often tends to focus on relaxation rather than exploration. Also, it might not offer the same level of social interactions and cultural experiences as a city.

While all three options have their merits, a bustling city provides an enriching blend of experiences, making it a dynamic and versatile choice. Cities are also generally better connected in terms of transportation, which is an important consideration for a solo traveler. However, the final decision should depend on the traveler's personal interests and what they hope to gain from their vacation.
